About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring. 

  

The Executive Officer (EO) supports the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) Director of Performance Monitoring, System Improvement and Innovation Unit. This support comprises the provision of executive level administrative and day-to-day operational support. Working as part of a team, the EO will also ensure a high level of collaborative team focused support and service to senior leaders. The Executive Officer may be required to provide administrative support to the Deputy Director and a range of Managers, Officers and Developers within the Unit. 

  

The Executive Officer will provide support to the facilities of the District in the management of patients on the waitlist to admission. The position will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date and relevant information regarding waitlist coordination whilst providing oversight management support to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are achieved. The Executive Officer will also assist in the development of Waitlist Management policies and procedures and regularly monitor the performance of the facilities within the District ensuring high efficiency and compliance.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in providing administrative and secretarial Executive support including a proven ability to operate efficiently in an environment demanding confidentiality and discretion in issues management. 
  • Ability to establish work priorities, meet predetermined deadlines and commitments in a demanding environment with competing and changing priorities. 
  • Demonstrated high level (verbal and written) communication skills based on a customer focused approach with experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and senior executives, coupled with the ability to exercise initiative and discretion. 
  • Proven skills in organising and maintaining relevant documentation for meetings with experience in providing executive support to committees including demonstrated ability to draft correspondence and other documents for senior Executive and facilitate performance to achieve goals and targets. 
  • Experience in data management and patient administration, with the ability to maintain accurate records and support reporting using Excel. Able to quickly learn NSW Health elective surgery and admissions policies, and understand MoH and LHD procedures, compliance requirements, and KPI frameworks. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively with clinical and administrative teams to support waitlist and admissions processes.
  • Ability to work within a 24 hour coverage framework over a Monday to Friday roster, with flexibility required to meet service demands.
