Where you'll be working
Blacktown Hospital is a major teaching and referral hospital within Western Sydney Local Health District, providing comprehensive services to a diverse and growing community. You will also support services at Mount Druitt Hospital, gaining broad clinical exposure across sites.

What you'll be doing
You will deliver high quality clinical and operational pharmacy services to optimise safe and effective medication use for patients.
Provide medication reconciliation, reviews and patient counselling
Collaborate with medical and nursing teams on ward rounds
Monitor patient outcomes including labs and high risk medicines
Contribute to quality improvement, audits and medication safety initiatives
Participate in rostered services including weekends, public holidays and on call. This role will likely require regular weekend work, with specific hours to be determined. Applicants must have capacity to work weekends before applying

Essential Criteria
Qualification: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by tertiary education institutions e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Registration: Current full and unrestricted Pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria
Full AHPRA registration without restrictions. Grade 2 placements will be made in accordance with award criteria only
Must demonstrate good knowledge of therapeutics and clinical pharmacy practice
Must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and have the skills to build and maintain cooperative relationships
Must have a demonstrated understanding of how pharmacists promote and contribute to the quality use of medicines
Must be able to participate in on call, weekend and public holiday work as required
