About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
In this role, you will provide vital administrative support, manage patient interactions, and contribute to the smooth daily operations of the Fertility Unit. Key responsibilities include coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate records, assisting with the department’s day-to-day operations, and liaising with medical staff to support the delivery of high-quality care.
Strong administrative and customer service skills are essential, and a background in healthcare or a related setting is highly desirable. Your ability to communicate effectively and compassionately will help create a welcoming and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
The RPAH Fertility Unit operates as a unique public-private partnership with Genea, offering accessible and high-quality IVF services. This position is part of the Women and Babies Ambulatory Service, within the centralised Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU).

Ideal Candidate
- Ability to work to support a Head of Department, independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external customers both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in an administrative setting with established high level computer literacy and typing skills, including experience with dictaphone transcribing equipment or software, with a minimum typing speed of 60wpm.
