Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1, Drug & Alcohol/Mental Health (Temporary Part-Time) - Sutherland Mental Health Service

Selection Criteria:

1. Current National Nurse Registration with AHPRA to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with a minimum of five years post basic experience in Mental Health Nursing
2. High level clinical skills in D&A assessment, withdrawal, opioid and other pharmacotherapies, psychosocial interventions, and treatment planning for patients with complex presentations
3. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
4. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice
5. Demonstrated experience in assessment, care planning and coordination with mental health consumers within a strengths and recovery oriented framework
6. Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research and demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning
7. Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems
