The role
The Nurse Manager Workforce Performance and Development (NMWP&D) is responsible to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery Services and works as a key member of the Nursing and Midwifery Exective Team. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing & Midwifery Services and the Clinical Co-Directors Women’s Health and Gynaecological, Midwifery and Neonatology Services in a senior leadership position.
The NMWP&D coordinates the recruitment of permanent, temporary and casual nursing, midwifery and frontline clerical staff for the Nursing & Midwifery Divisions, ensuring that contemporary and flexible human resource practices are utilised to maintain an appropriately skilled nursing, midwifery and frontline clerical workforce at the Royal Hospital for Women. The NMWP&D also ensures that the process of employment for casual and Agency staff is in line with SESLHD Recruitment requirements and that the appropriate documentation and registration are obtained and maintained.

Selection Criteria
- Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (APHRA).
- Post graduate management qualification or extensive clinical and management experience.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written communication and sound computer literacy skills including Microsoft excel and Content Manager applications or willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an autonomous role.
- Demonstrated high level problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of contemporary Human Resource policies and practices and a sound working knowledge of Healthroster, Stafflink and the NSW Recruitment and Onboarding System.
- Knowledge of Public Health System Nurses and Midwives’ (State) Award and its application.
