Come and be part of an innovative multi-disciplinary team in The Getting on Track In Time (GOT iT!) program working with young people and their families.

GOT iT is a school based early intervention program delivered by Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) clinicians. The program is directed toward children from Kindergarten to Year 2 who display emerging challenging and disruptive behaviours and their parents and carers. The aim of the program is to build resilience, prevent mental illness and behavioural disorders in later life and improve educational outcomes.  
The clinician will liaise and work closely with educational staff and will be expected to provide practical support, education, and direction to classroom teachers involved in GOT IT! Development of consultation practices such as community education, and community development are key features of this position. To assist in developing recommendations for the sustainability of the program across the SESLHD the program is aligned to the NSW School– Link Initiative.  

GOT IT is a multi-level whole school approach within a CAMHS service that supports:  

  1. CAMHS – Increased capacity for CAMHS to provide early intervention
  2. School staff- increased capacity for school staff to support and respond to children with challenging behavior
  3. Parents – Multi Level evidence based parenting program of indicated children
  4. Children – Universal screening, targeted assessment and group treatment for indicated children in the school setting
  5. Families– Education and community Referral Pathways for children and families

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Psychologist with a four year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
  2. Clinical skills and Experience in the Assessment and Treatment of Children and their Families presenting with complex mental health needs, using evidence - based approach.
  3. Experience and skill in developing, implementing and evaluating programs including Clinical Groups. Demonstrated ability to work with a family systems based interventions.
  4. Commitment to and skill in working collaborativley and systematically with many key stakeholders.
  5. Understanding of relevant legislations that pertain to working with children.
  6. High level written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team and computer literacy skills.
  8. Current NSW Drivers Licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
