Where you'll be working

The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service is located in the Sutherland Shire ('the Shire'), approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in the suburb of Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital was established in 1958 and is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital. The hospital motto, from its inception, is "Endeavour to Serve".

We offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services to the residents of the Sutherland Shire. We have 375 beds and each year we care for more than 50,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 28,000 patients are admitted to our hospital.

The Role

The Contract Implementation Clinical Specialist provides contract implementation expertise, using clinical knowledge and skills to engage with SESLHD stakeholders and drive change and risk management in operationalisation of new state-wide contracts that provide value for money and optimise patient outcomes.
 
The Contract Implementation Clinical Specialist will be responsible for provision of contract management support in relation to the District’s contractual arrangements with state-wide contracts and will be required to possess detailed knowledge and understanding of Ministry of Health requirements and processes.
 
The position holder will also provide the focus and assist with coordination for selection, evaluation and introduction of all new (clinical) products and/or equipment.
 
The position holder will provide and assist a process with a view to rationalisation, reduction and ultimately, standardisation of the range of products available for use.
 
The position holder will ensure a multidisciplinary approach to consult over a wide range of specialties in the assessment of equipment and products.  The position holder will ensure that standards are met, including Clinical Governance, Risk Assessment and maintain research activities that will enhance the product selection to support current clinical practice.

Are you ready to join us?

  1. This role requires a Registered Nurse with broad clinical experience, strong knowledge of clinical products, and the ability to work autonomously across multiple locations. Can you describe a time when you worked independently across different clinical specialties, utilised your knowledge of clinical products, and had to travel as part of your responsibilities? How did you ensure effective communication with diverse stakeholders during this time?
  2. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead change initiatives, while using analytical and digital skills to support clinical outcomes. Can you provide an example of a project or initiative you led or contributed to, where you had to analyse data, prepare reports, use systems such as Excel or a digital ordering system, and influence clinical staff to implement a change?
