About the Team
Tamworth Hospital is one of the largest regional hospitals in Hunter New England Local Health District, providing a wide range of acute and specialist healthcare services to the community. Our Security team works closely with clinical and support staff to ensure the hospital remains a safe, welcoming, and secure place for patients, visitors, and employees.

About the Role
Reporting to the Security Manager, you'll be part of a collaborative team delivering security services across Tamworth Hospital and, when required, other Hunter New England Health facilities.
In this varied frontline role, you will:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital assets.
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance in a calm and professional manner.
- Support vulnerable patients and families with empathy and respect.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assist with patient and staff safety.
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintain clear documentation.
- Participate in a 24/7 rotating roster.

About You
You'll bring a strong foundation in security together with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service. You remain composed under pressure, use sound judgement in challenging situations, and treat everyone with respect and compassion.
You'll also demonstrate:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
- A proactive and professional approach to safety and customer service.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Previous healthcare security experience is highly regarded but not essential. If you have the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for supporting your community, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
Essential Requirements:
- Current NSW Class 1A Security Licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate.

You'll be supported by experienced Security Officers while building your knowledge of:
- Hospital operations and clinical environments.
