This exciting position will be pivotal in developing the current Revenue team as they transition onto a new pathology billing system. Working from the NSWHP revenue hub at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, you will be surrounded by like minded professionals who place patient care at the centre of all decisions. There is access to meeting rooms and a dedicated training room. Onsite parking is available at a reasonable cost.

We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) Operational Revenue Team in improving revenue management and performance through the development and implementation of appropriate business process. The Revenue Manager is responsible for direct oversight of the operational revenue team to ensure appropriate process is followed to ensure accurate billing, claiming and debt collection occurs across NSWHP.

The Operational Revenue Manager provides accurate and timely revenue performance information, analysis, and reports, including maintaining and updating a reporting framework containing key revenue benchmarks and metrics, to the Statewide Revenue Manager and other stakeholders.

  1. Tertiary qualifications in business or health management and/or extensive experience in the management of health-related revenue generation and collection.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in health-related billing and patient information systems, as well as Oracle and Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated experience using the SIMBA pathology billing system, Patient Administration System (PAS) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) would be an advantage.
  3. Proven ability to allocate, motivate and train staff in order to achieve targets and maximise efficiency, including providing regular feedback, assessing training needs and allocating staff to meet workloads.
  4. Extensive Accounts Receivable experience and demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and billing requirements as they relate to revenue collection and generation, including Medicare (MBS) and health fund policies and procedures.
  5. Proven leadership, customer service and highly effective communication and interpersonal skills that contribute to effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to use judgement and discretion as needed to ensure outcomes are delivered and services consistently maintained at a high standard.
  7. Experience with staff training, education, and development, including development of training materials as well as demonstrated experience developing and implementing performance KPIs.
