About the Role

Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, one of Australia’s most advanced and respected critical care services, is expanding. We’re seeking skilled, motivated, and dynamic Registered Nurses to join our 50‑bed ICU.
 
RPA is currently undergoing the largest redevelopment in its history, and we will be moving to a brand new, state-of-the-art unit with additional beds when complete.

  • Virtual ICU (vICU): Contribute to an innovative program supporting clinicians and patients in regional and remote NSW.

 

Unparalleled Clinical Diversity

With 50 beds across four specialised units, you’ll be exposed to a broad spectrum of critical care:

  • Cardiothoracic ICU
  • Neurosciences ICU
  • General ICU (Green & Blue Units)

From major trauma and multi‑organ failure to complex cardiac, neurosurgical, and general surgical cases, you’ll work at the cutting edge of acute care.

 

12-hour and 8-hour shift patterns available, with the flexibility to choose your own hours. Shifts available for all shifts Monday to Sunday.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Experienced: Confident in intensive care nursing and comfortable managing high‑acuity patients, post-graduate certification in critical care highly desirable (ideally 2+ years experience in ICU nursing).
  • Dynamic: Able to adapt quickly to changing clinical priorities.
  • Collaborative: Committed to multidisciplinary teamwork and exceptional patient‑centred care.
