About the opportunity
Join NSW Health Pathology’s Clinical Governance team, a statewide service dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in quality and patient safety across New South Wales. We are currently seeking a Quality and Patient Safety Manager to focus on the Northern NSW Local Health District and Mid North Coast Local Health District regions. This 24-hour per week position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful healthcare initiatives within these vibrant communities.
Applicants must be located near the Mid North Coast (MNC) or Northern NSW Local Health District (NSSWLHD) to effectively support these areas. As part of a dynamic and geographically diverse team, you will play a key role in maintaining clinical excellence and enhancing patient outcomes across multiple sites. What you'll be doing
- Bachelor Degree of Medical Science and/or significant experience as a senior quality officer or manager working in a multidisciplinary NATA or other relevant accredited laboratory
- Demonstrated sound knowledge and/or experience of a broad range of quality management systems used to review and monitor an organisation’s performance
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing liaison and working relationships with internal and external customers at all levels, consumer groups, community members as well as suppliers of products and services, and experience in managing a team of health professionals
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in systems such as the Laboratory Information Management System and MS office suite of programs
- Demonstrated ability to develop, interpret and evaluate policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to implement, evaluate, analyse, monitor and report on clinical safety and quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Current unencumbered Class C driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
