  1. Relevant tertiary qualification and eligibility or near eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the development, maintenance and control of budgets and forecasting in a large organisation including having extensive experience in financial and performance management reporting.
  3. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to problems and manage a number of projects concurrently.
  4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills (both written and oral) with proven experience in conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner to senior executive as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in using financial management information systems, spreadsheets, word processing, data bases and other office software packages particularly with Microsoft Office to manipulate, analyse and present financial information and sound knowledge of large ERP systems (Oracle Preferred).
  6. Demonstrated successful experience in leading, developing and managing a team.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of public sector accounting requirements and financial management procedures including the Public Finance and Audit Act, Treasurers Directions, Health Service Accounting Procedures Manual and relevant legislation and regulations, and the principles of accrual accounting.
  8. A proven record of continuous process improvement in a changing and high volume environment.
