Employment Conditions

  • Total remuneration package valued at $63,630 pa pro rata (including salary $57,406 pa pro rata, annual leave loading and employer’s contribution to superannuation). Total package does not include any applicable penalty rates and/or loadings. Salary packaging arrangements providing additional benefits are also available.
  • The successful applicant will be appointed under the terms and conditions of the Ambulance Service of New South Wales Administrative and Clerical Employees (State) Award and will be required to enter into the annual Performance Development Program.
  • The successful applicant may be required to undertake duties at the other centres should the need arise.
  • No entitlements to Transferred Employees Benefits (TEB) is provided
  • Applicants may be required to participate in pre-employment drug testing and to meet the requirements of the Drug and Alcohol policy.
  • Completion of NSW Health Mandatory Training courses is a mandatory requirement for all NSW Health and NSW Ambulance employees applying for this position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory conduct and services check including referee/supervisor check, a review of National Police check and review of the Service Check Register. A review of excess annual and sick leave, PDP status, ability to undertake full duties of the position and clearances from Professional Conduct & Integrity Unit, Ambulance Education Centre and Infection Control.
  • You must hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid certificate with re-certification every three years to maintain currency and an understanding of basic medical terminology.
  • As part of your application, you acknowledge that a therapy dog may be present in centre and be part of your day to day work environment. The therapy dog initiative has been implemented to support the wellbeing of staff within the Control Centre environment.

  • An eligibility list may be established for future part time vacancies.

  • It is a requirement that all candidates submit their applications online.
  • Control Centre positions are not a stepping stone to Paramedic positions. They require different skills sets and have two separate recruitment pathways.
  • Applicants who are successful in gaining employment as a Communications Assistant must complete Communications Assistant training and mentoring followed by 6 months independent practice as a Communications Assistant before being eligible to apply for or transfer to other positions within NSW Ambulance.
