ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Associate Director Contracts and Performance is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective aeromedical service delivery by managing external contractors and stakeholders, undertaking contract administration of strategic aircraft services contracts, and conducting performance analysis and reporting to meet the operational needs of NSW Ambulance (NSWA) Aeromedical Operations.

 

The Aeromedical Operations directorate plays a central role in providing critical care to pre-hospital retrieval and interhospital transfer patients. Aeromedical Operations is a specialist multidisciplinary team who provide coordination, response, treatment and transport from all rural and metropolitan areas for; pre-hospital incidents, medical retrievals, long distance medical transports, search and rescues and major incidents. The response is centrally coordinated through the Aeromedical Control Centre, who triage the patient and deploy a helicopter, fixed wing or road retrieval asset with the appropriate clinical and technical skill required for the management of the patient and situation. Aeromedical Operations utilise dedicated medical retrieval teams that comprise a combination of medical, nursing and/or paramedic staff. Please note: This is a temporary full-time position for a period of fifteen (15) months with possible extension.

ABOUT YOU

 

To be successful in this role, you will require the following experience and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement processes, contract management and governance frameworks within a public sector organisation, in particular in contract governance and administration of strategic, high value contracts.
  • Ability to provide contractual and commercial advice in relation to complex, high value services contracts, and facilitate the development of contractual documents, including but not limited to approaches to market, contract extensions and variations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively support complex procurement activities based on knowledge of government policy, procedures and industry best practice.
  • Have highly collaborative stakeholder engagement and management skills, applying strong communication skills and relationship building capability to work with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Have exceptional written communications skills and sound experience in preparing formal briefs for senior executives, and developing and providing ministerial advice through briefing notes on matters of significance.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited oversight in a senior management team, with the ability to be responsive and flexible in completing routine and unplanned, urgent sensitive tasks.
