About the Opportunity 
South West Sydney Local Health District is recruiting for a Technical Officer (Grade 2) to complement and enhance the current Biomedical Engineering department. Be part of one of NSW’s fastest-growing health district.

What does the role entail?
The Biomedical Engineering department operates as a central reference point for all Biomedical Engineering related activities and functions in accordance with best practice, relevant Australian Standards and Industry Guidelines. The department’s object is to provide safe, effective, reliable and well maintained medical devices for patient care throughout the SWSLHD. This role is responsible for acceptance testing, calibration, performance verification, preventative maintenance, repair and record keeping with regards to medical technology employed within the SWSLHD.

What You'll Be Doing
This role is responsible for acceptance testing, calibration, performance verification, preventative maintenance, repair and record keeping with regards to medical technology employed within the SWSLHD.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia OR Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair and testing of electronic equipment.
  3. Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills with an outstanding commitment to excellent customer service who can work independently and as a team member.
  4. The willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 on call roster to facilitate the provision of an out of hours emergency repair service for medical devices.
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
