This is an on-site role based at the Virtual Care Service, Douglas Building, Royal North Shore Hospital campus
What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service. The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience, and a valid Australian Driver’s License.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in the assessment and management of patients with acute and chronic wounds.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in case management, including comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, care coordination and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
