Are you a motivated Registered Nurse (RN) ready to drive innovative, patient-centred care? The Virtual Care Service is seeking a dynamic CNS Grade 2 to deliver expert nursing support and help patients stay well at home, avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service. The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision-making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.

The CNS within the Virtual Care Service (VCS) provides advanced nursing expertise to support the delivery of high-quality, patient centred care across a range of virtual care pathways. While the role supports patients of varying needs, there is a particular focus on those aged 70 years and over, with the aim of promoting safe, appropriate care in the community and avoiding unnecessary hospital presentations.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
  3. Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
  4. Demonstrated skills in computer use and applications such as Windows, word processing and database.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6.  Current unrestricted NSW Driver's License.
