As a hospital switchboard operator you are required to have excellent customer service skills and will be responsible for accurate and efficient response to all calls made to and from Hornsby Hospital switchboard and emergency calls.

Where you'll be working
Hornsby Hospital

What you'll be doing
Operating hospital switchboard; and hospital Paging systems
Answering incoming and outgoing calls
Delivering assistance in a polite, clear, well-spoken and calm manner in all circumstances
Contacting staff and emergency groups for code calls e.g. cardiac arrest and trauma groups
Performing routine clerical duties as required by the Manager
Providing an effective, efficient, timely and courteous service to patients, visitors, the public and staff who interact with the switchboard.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
 

  1. Previous experience in a reception or other high-volume call environment
  2. Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  3. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team
  4. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts 24/7 roster. Includes early/ late and overnight shifts and weekends.
