Ryde Hospital

 
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing
 The position manages all facets of daily staffing requirements for the facility; manages casual nursing staff and coordinates all liaison with casual and agency nursing staff in relation to filling vacant shifts.  

  • Participating in strategic workforce planning and reporting 
  • Daily Allocation of casual and agency staff in alignment with ward vacancies. 
  • Daily liaison with NUMs to ensure staffing levels and skill mix levels are appropriate, including the provisions of specials and escorts • Reporting daily staffing on the After Hours Nurse Manager Report 
  • Coordination with the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Nurse Manager Workforce Capacity and Resources with regards to recruitment of casual staff 
  • Monitor and evaluate casual nurses resource, supply and demand via the Staffing Statistics Report 
  • Grievance and Performance Management with regards to casual staff 
  • Reconciliation of Agency Invoices with the District Casual Staff Nurse Manager 
  • Adherence of statutory regulations and hospital policies and procedures 
  • Monitor Nursing Hours Per Patient Day for each applicable unit 
  • Monitor Reasonable Workloads and report to committee

On occasion the position may be required to provide operational management of excessive leave and entitlement management.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Previous experience in recruitment processes including interview convenor, panel membership and conducting reference checks.
  3. Demonstrated high level communication skills including; interpersonal, negotiating, representation and consultative liaison skills.
