What you'll be doing
The Senior Specialist Rehabilitation Clinician will lead and promote the delivery of a high quality multidisciplinary specialist MHDA rehabilitation services through expert clinical input; leadership, guidance and line management.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration or eligibility for membership with the AASW. Minimum Bachelors degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Diversional Therapy, or Nursing. Clinical Nurse Specialist requires relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or other such qualifications or equivalent experience. Occupational Therapists, Diversional Therapists, and Social Workers require minimum experience at Level 2.
- High level clinical skills and extensive experience with providing mental health rehabilitation services within a recovery paradigm, clinical experience with a variety of psychosocial assessments and interventions to assist in consumer goal attainment including but not limited to psycho-education, family work, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy partnerships with health and other sector providers including government and non-government agencies
- To support the MHDA Clinical Rehabilitation Manager by regularly meeting and liaising with the Sector Director/Sector Managers regarding the allocation of resources, Specialist Rehabilitation Service performance development/management and rehabilitation portfolio responsibilities.
- Independently execute a range of strategies to support the effective recruitment, leadership, management, development and performance of the multi-disciplinary specialist clinical team and play an active role in team culture development and practices which value diversity and foster learning.
