What you'll be doing
The Senior Sonographer performs complex ultrasound procedures with a high level of competency, ensuring quality patient care, efficient scheduling, and effective training of sonographers and students within a structured quality framework. The position will also provide leadership and supervision across the Ultrasound Department daily operations and ensure comprehensive management of Sonographers, including trainee Sonographers.
- Current AHPRA registration to work as a Radiographer, with the MRPB of Australia, current ASAR registration and a valid EPA Radiation Licence.
- Extensive high level of competency and clinical experience in Ultrasound within a busy hospital environment.
- Establishment of clinical protocols, manuals, quality assurance and departmental Continuous Quality Improvement activities. Ability to perform complex clinical procedures within specialist modality with a high degree of competency.
Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem solving skills with a strong customer service approach and ability to exercise judgement when managing or escalating complex cases. Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
