What you'll be doing
The Northern Beaches Child & Youth Mental Health Service (NB CYMHS) provides a comprehensive range of assessment and treatments for infants, children and adolescents affected by moderate to severe, or complex mental health problems. The Senior Social Work role provides expert clinical leadership and supervision of the Social Work services within NB CYMHS. The position will carry a clinical load and will be responsible for providing direct client-centred, recovery-orientated and trauma-informed care through a combination of individual, family-based, parenting support and group therapy interventions. The Senior Social Worker will exercise independent clinical judgement, initiative, and problem-solving skills to provide senior clinical support to the multi-disciplinary clinical team and to other relevant internal and external stakeholders as required. The Senior Social Worker role will be active in the areas of service development, service evaluation and quality improvement. In collaboration with the Clinical Lead the role will assist in providing and coordinating clinical supervision and professional development for the clinical team at NB CYMHS. The Senior Social Worker will also participate in the intake component of the service on a pro-rata basis.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), including the ability to demonstrate a practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics. Extensive post graduate clinical experience within mental health settings as a Level 2 Social Worker or above.
- Demonstrated comprehensive training/qualifications and skills in assessment, formulation and providing treatment for children and adolescents affected by mental health problems, their families/carers and broader system of care through evidence-based individual, group and parent-focused therapies such as CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies and family therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership, service coordination and support to a multi-disciplinary team.
