Senior Podiatrist – Managing High Acuity, High Complexity Care Across Inpatient and Outpatient Settings

Royal North Shore and Ryde Hospital Podiatry and High-Risk Foot Services.
What you'll be doing
The Senior Podiatrist provides direct patient care, consultative services to endocrinology, and advises the health service on matters relating to podiatry. The Senior Podiatrist provides ongoing case management for patients.
The senior podiatrist requires high level clinical skills, knowledge and experience working with chronic care populations and within multidisciplinary.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Full registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia, with evidence of extensive clinical experience as a Podiatrist, including a minimum of Level 2 or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced clinical reasoning and professional judgement in the assessment and management of complex foot and/or lower limb conditions. This includes the ability to synthesise clinical information from multiple sources, manage clinical uncertainty, and select and interpret appropriate assessment tools and investigations in a considered and proportionate manner to inform diagnosis and management decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to make timely, well-reasoned clinical decisions that balance patient risk, clinical need, and system priorities. This includes the ability to appropriately escalate care, support admission avoidance where safe, and contribute to early and effective discharge planning through prioritisation and sound judgement.
