Manly's Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH) is seeking an experienced, Senior Occupational Therapist to join our unique and brilliant team.

Where you'll be working: Your role is based at Manly AYAH with flexibility to work at Mona Vale Hospital (sub-acute adult inpatients), depending on workload requirements.

What you'll be doing: Providing clinical specialist care for 16 to 30-year-old patients with life-limiting illness including symptom management, end-of-life care, and care coordination support in the transition from children’s to adult services.
This role seeks an OT with flexibility to provide assistance with non-clinical tasks such as assisting with patient outings, diversional activities and fundraising events.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. 

 Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and current Australian Occupational Therapy registration (AHPRA). Current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver’s Licence (or equivalent).
  2. Excellent communication and negotiation skills including verbal, written and multidisciplinary liaison. Excellent decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation. Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and set priorities in complex situations.
  3. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical and administrative demands.
  4. Evidence of advanced clinical skills and demonstrated significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services for palliative care clients including pain and symptom management. Experience working with adolescents and young adults highly desirable.
