What you'll be doing
- The Senior Finance Officer, Treasury leads the treasury team, which has primary responsibility for managing and reporting the treasury results in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health. The role is significant to the effective management of trust funds through determining the best investment strategy for significant trust funds.
- The position is responsible for ensuring the financial records and reporting of Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) with respect to Treasury functions are managed in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards, The Accounts and Audit Determination, the Ministry of Health Accounting Manual for Public Hospitals and LHD policies and procedures.
- The position is responsible for the preparation of complex accounting information, preparation of detailed reconciliations and the investigation and resolution of complex accounting issues.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce and/or meet the requirements to be a member of a recognised Australian professional accounting body.
- Extensive experience in complex reconciliations and preparation of detailed accounting information and high level reports.
- High level interpersonal skills and consultation skills, with the capacity to explain and discuss accounting or policy issues to a diverse range of stakeholders as well as experience leading high level negotiations
- Demonstrated experience with the management of large investments.
