  1. Hold relevant tertiary degree (minimum three years full-time study) or equivalent qualifications and Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (Consumer) or willingness to obtain within 18 months of commencement. Commitment to continuous study and professional development in peer work leadership.
  2. Experience in mentoring and/or providing supervision to other peer workers, promoting continuous professional growth and adherence to best practices in peer support.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to use one’s own recovery journey constructively to support and inspire others, including being able and willing to share aspects of one’s own Mental Health experience with service navigation and recovery journey with others individually or in a group setting.
  4. Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, with high level interpersonal and communication skills to negotiate and influence outcomes, resolve conflict and motivate change. This includes the ability to have difficult conversations, negotiate and resolve conflict while upholding lived experience values and principles, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated high level computer literacy and administration skills.
