Where you'll be working
The position is part of the Dietetics team at Ryde Hospital and assists with nutrition care across the acute, sub-acute (rehabilitation) wards and outpatients based on workload demand.. In addition, the position is required to participate in the provision of the face to face weekend/public holiday Dietetic service on the Ryde Hospital campus (acute care and sub-acute care) for long weekends as rostered.
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
This senior position predominantly covers our Diabetes Dietitian Outpatient clinic and will work collaboratively with the Ryde Diabetes Service MDT in service planning.
The Clinical Dietitian provides a high quality Nutrition and Dietetics service to allocated clinical areas. As a key member of the healthcare team, the Clinical Dietitian is an advocate for nutrition services. The Nutrition and Dietetics service provides a comprehensive range of nutrition services including inpatients, outpatients, and ambulatory care and community consumers according to endorsed standards of practice, policy and procedure.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a Level 2 Dietitian.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
- Demonstrated proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current Diabetes Nutrition & Dietetic practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring Diabetes nutrition assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
