Assistive Technology & Seating (Macquarie Hospital Campus)
What you'll be doing
This is to be achieved in a reliable and cost-effective manner, as determined by clinical and engineering staff and within organisational guidelines. The objective is to provide safe, effective, reliable equipment meeting the needs of patients, clients and clinical customers of AT&S NSLHD.
The Electronic Technician is required to travel to and work at any NSLHD facility, Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney, and occasionally other hospitals. In addition the Electronics Technician is required to participate in AT&S service delivery at other locations including nursing homes, residential facilities for people with disabilities, metropolitan home visits, and rural locations. Participation in rural clinics is required several times per year and involves overnight stay out of Sydney for several nights (typically 1 to 3 nights, rarely 4); travel is by aircraft and/or car.
The Electronics Technician m ay be directed to undertake tasks outside their usual range and to work in collaboration with others in activities such as projects, support for research and development tasks or educational activities.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in electrical and/or mechanical technology subjects.
- What technical qualifications and experience do you have in fabrication?
- What challenges do you anticipate might arise working as a Seating Technician in the Health and Disability Sectors?
- Describe the project that you have worked on that you are proudest of. What was your role in the project?
