Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) – St Leonards
RNSH is a 634-bed principal tertiary referral hospital located close to Sydney’s CBD, easily accessible by public transport. It provides a comprehensive range of complex specialty services including major trauma, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, neonatal intensive care, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery, and interventional neuroradiology, alongside acute medical, surgical, mental health, paediatric, cancer, and maternity services. The hospital is home to the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre and the Pain Management and Research Centre, and is co-located with the Kolling Institute, a leader in translational research. It also hosts the Clinical School of the University of Sydney and offers a robust environment for clinical education and innovation.
The Perioperative Services Department features 18 operating theatres and interventional suites, with opportunities available Anaesthetics, Recovery, Scrub/Scout, Cath Lab, and Endoscopy. Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, surgeons, nurses, radiographers, and administrative staff, all committed to delivering safe, high-quality care to a diverse patient cohort.
The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH) – Hornsby
HKH is a 295-bed major metropolitan teaching hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. These include coronary care, intensive care, general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, maternity, paediatrics, rehabilitation, and emergency services.
The state-of-the-art STAR building houses a modern perioperative complex comprising 10 operating rooms, a day surgery unit, endoscopy, and recovery areas. Opportunities exist in scrub/scout, anaesthetics, and recovery nursing. Staff are supported by an experienced and collaborative perioperative team.
Ryde Hospital – Eastwood
Ryde Hospital delivers essential healthcare services to the local community, including emergency care, intensive and coronary care, general medicine, elective and emergency surgery, orthopaedics, aged care, stroke care, inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation, and ambulatory services.
The hospital is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment that will deliver a new state-of-the-art Acute Services Building and expanded clinical capacity. The existing Operating Suite includes three theatres, a recovery area, and a 10-bed/6-chair Perioperative Unit. Surgical specialties include ENT, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Gynaecology, Urology, and General and Emergency Surgery. Ryde offers a supportive environment for nurses to develop and expand their perioperative skills across multiple specialties.
Clinical Nurse Educators are available across all units to support ongoing education and excellence in person-centred care.
What you'll be doing
You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team to deliver quality, person-centred outcomes in the perioperative environment.

- Are you a Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)? Please provide your AHPRA registration number.
- Summarise your current clinical knowledge and experience including your ability to problem solve within the perioperative nursing environment.
