Where you'll be working

Ward 7D is a tertiary referral centre for neurosurgical referrals across the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Local Health Districts. We offer a statewide spinal injury service and provide a quaternary referral centre for specialised cerebrovascular conditions. We care for patients with neuro oncology, cerebrovascular, neuro infective, peripheral nerve, spine and traumatic brain conditions. We have many resources in senior nursing support including a NUM, neurosurgical CNE, two neurosurgical nurse practitioners and a neuroscience CNC. We have a structured preceptor program and recognise the importance of educational opportunities. We offer 1 – 2 in-services daily and offer a number of free neurosurgical nursing full day courses available to staff throughout the year.

What you'll be doing

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Current experience in an acute hospital environment with current clinical knowledge and clinical problem-solving ability.
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
