The Senior Radiation Therapist will be expected to assume a senior role in contributing to development and implementation of remote patient monitoring research project at Northern Sydney Cancer Center according to departmental and Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) policies and procedures.

What you'll be doing

The Senior Radiation Therapist will be expected to assume a senior role in contributing to development and implementation of remote patient monitoring research project at Northern Sydney Cancer Center while managing the daily service delivery either on a treatment unit, all aspects of radiation therapy imaging, planning and treatment delivery, according to departmental and NSLHD policies and procedures. This will include simulate, plan and treat patients with ionising radiation in a timely and efficient manner whilst maintaining technical radiation therapy standards. Safely operate equipment, in accordance with all radiation safety and occupational health and safety standards. 
A commitment to and active involvement in personal continuing professional development and participation in quality improvement and research activities is expected of the senior radiation therapist.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

    1. Graduate of a course in Medical Radiation Science - Radiation Therapy, accredited by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT); and eligible for licensure by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and eligible for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    2. Demonstrate the ability to lead a team and manage a treatment unit or other area of radiation therapy using effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
    3. Active involvement, support for and leadership in quality improvement and research activities.
