Where you'll be working
Northern Sydney Public Health Unit at Hornsby Hospital
What you'll be doing
• managing cold chain breaches and revaccination schedules
• determining immunisation catch-up schedules
• arranging rabies post-exposure prophylaxis
• approving new Vaccine Account numbers for GPs and pharmacies
• providing advice on how to manage adverse events following immunisation and vaccine administration errors
• Responding to general inquires from members of the public about immunisation and vaccines
• providing general information about the school program.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and authorised nurse immuniser (as per requirements of PD 2008_033 Immunisation Services - Authority for Registered Nurses) or willingness to work towards authorisation.
- Sound knowledge of relevant immunisation policies and guidelines, including the National Immunisation Program Schedule, Australian Immunisation Handbook and National Vaccine Storage "Strive for 5" guidelines.
- Current/recent experience with immunisation practice.
