The Ambulatory Care Centre at Royal North Shore Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Ophthalmology to work in the Ophthalmology clinic, screening and assessing patients in the Ophthalmology Clinic, working closely with a team of ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and nurses to deliver safe and effective care.

Where you'll be working

 
The Ambulatory Care Centre is a dynamic and vibrant facility, housing over 40 outpatient specialty clinics that serve both outpatients and a limited number of inpatients. Our ophthalmology clinic sees an average of 50 patients daily, providing specialist consultations, minor procedures, and post-operative care in a state-of-the-art environment.

Our multidisciplinary team includes medical consultants, allied health professionals, specialist nurses, and dedicated support staff, all working collaboratively to deliver high-quality care.

What you'll be doing
 Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated experience in the field of ophthalmology nursing, with ophthalmology assessment skills
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem-solving ability.
  5. The ability to work effectively with others, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team environment.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within a multidisciplinary team
