What you'll be doing
The Senior Occupational Therapist (OT) works collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary Kids Compass Clinic Service, which is part of the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Child, Youth and Family (CYF) Community Health Service. Professionally and operationally the role reports to the CYF Occupational Therapy Team Leader. Clinically the Kids Compass Occupational Therapist works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing screening, assessment, case management and short-term therapy programs within various community health centres in each of the three sectors across Northern Sydney (Hornsby Ku-ring-gai, Northern Beaches and North Shore / Ryde). This position has a specialist role in the management of children with suspected neurodevelopmental differences in the first 2000 days of life (pre-diagnostic case management and delivery of therapeutic programs). The Kids Compass Clinic is a family-centred, integrated clinical service that delivers clinical outcomes, improved patient flow, and improved efficiency for children with neurodevelopmental differences.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- A bachelor or post graduate degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA). Evidence of extensive clinical experience in Paediatric Occupational Therapy including extensive experience in assessment, planning and evaluating occupational therapy interventions for children aged 0-5 years presenting with complex developmental, social or health needs especially in the pre-diagnostic area, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Occupational Therapist or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to provide trauma-informed care, and experience working in partnership with families to respond to the needs of vulnerable families and priority population groups.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, evidence of quality improvement and service evaluation skills and experience.
- Unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence (P2 licence acceptable).
