Nursing Unit Manager Upper GI/Colorectal
Do you have a passion for leadership? The Upper Gastrointestinal/Colorectal Ward is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to lead the team in the role of Nursing Unit Manager. The position is a temporary part time job share role - working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Where you'll be working
Ward 8B has a strong focus on multidisciplinary teamwork, with cross referrals between the physicians and surgeons, and daily team meetings. The Ward is supported by enthusiastic nursing staff, a variety of allied health professionals, Clinical Nurse Consultants for Stomal Therapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition, and a Ward Based Clinical Nurse Educator. The senior staff on Ward 8B includes Clinical Nurse Specialists. Staff are provided with a supportive environment and are encouraged to extend their skills.
What you'll be doing
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will manage a unit or ward in order to provide a quality standard of care to NSLHD Patients.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in change management and initiating a new service delivery model within an established service.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
