Ryde Centre, Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service, office based at Macquarie Hospital North Ryde. This Centre covers the Ryde and Hunters Hill LGAs within Northern Sydney Local Health District

What you'll be doing
The Nursing Unit Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centered care in clients’ homes. This role is accountable for leading, directing, and coordinating care across the Centre, managing patient flow, and ensuring workforce planning and rosters support optimal care delivery.
The NUM fosters multidisciplinary collaboration, actively participating in care planning as clinical lead where appropriate, and using patient and carer feedback to inform service improvements. The position promotes a culture of enquiry, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement in nursing care, ensuring compliance with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council standards, NSW Health, and NSLHD policies.
As a leader, the NUM models professional excellence, maintaining strong communication and trust within the team, conducting performance reviews, nurturing talent, and inspiring others to achieve shared goals. The role requires effective management of human, physical, and financial resources, problem-solving, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The NUM will lead change, optimise business outcomes, and ensure service delivery aligns with organisational priorities and community needs.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: 

 

  1. Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) AND Relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with proven leadership skills to manage, support, and develop a clinical team.
  3. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency in digital systems, including Microsoft applications, roster management platforms, and electronic medical records.
  4. Experience in change management and implementing new service delivery models, with a strong commitment to patient-focused care, clinical governance, and continuous quality improvement.
  5. Current NSW Drivers Licence
