The Perioperative Nurse Manager is a senior manager at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and works closely with the nursing and midwifery executive team and HKH Executive to support key performance indicators for the organisation and participates in HKH Executive on call roster.

What you’ll be doing :
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the Perioperative Service, this includes the operating theatres, Post Anaestheic Care Unit (PACU), Day Surgery Unit (DSU), Integrated Booking Unit (IBU), Sterilising services, medical imaging nursing staff and the Acute Pain Service for the hospital. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the effective management of the human, fiscal and capacity resources of the service. This includes planning, facilitating and evaluating perioperative services for the care of patients across the hospital. This position will provide leadership, mentorship and support in the achievement of excellence in nursing practice and ensure that the key performance indicators are met in collaboration with the medical heads of department.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- Extensive recent post registration perioperative clinical and middle management experience and demonstrated commitment to own professional development relevant to health management, including recognised qualifications and/or appropriate management experience.
- Proven leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to lead manage and support a clinical team utilising knowledge of current nursing issues relating to Perioperative nursing.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focussed care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes using models of care, evidence based practice and practice development.
- Demonstrated experience in budget development and monitoring financial performance.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications and roster management systems.
