Sydney Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital

What you'll be doing
The Nurse Educator (NE) is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of simulation based education programs (SBEPs) within Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) The NE will be mainly located at the Sydney Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre (SCSSC), Royal North Shore Hospital.   

The SBEPs provided by the simulation units include multidisciplinary training workshops that address the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standard 8 (such as DETECT, ALS, Emergency Response Training) along with a range of clinical and non-technical skills focussed training for  groups NSLHD staff as well as programs for external groups. 

In addition to holding an educational program portfolio the Nurse Educator will be involved in projects and educational consultancy with an emphasis on provision of high standard educational content culminating in the provision of quality patient care. 
  
The Nurse Educator will work closely with the teams based at the RNSH SCSSC and guest faculty.
 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
 

  1. Holds APHRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds post registration clinical or educational nursing qualifications relevant to either Critical Care or Simulation Based Education.

     

  2. Effective educational leadership, with experience designing and delivering training programs for multi-disciplinary users in either simulation or critical care along with relevant project management skills.
  3. A demonstrated commitment to continuing education, both as an individual and as a team member.
