About the Role
The successful applicant will provide a monthly paediatric Orthopaedic clinic concentrating on hip dysplasia and other conditions of the Newborn.
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of
medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within NSLHD.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Sound clinical knowledge in Orthopaedic Surgery demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- Demonstrated clinical, diagnostic and technical skills commensurate with functioning as an independent Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant including Subspecialty Fellowship Training in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated participation in and commitment to undergraduate, postgraduate, interdisciplinary teaching and education, including research, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established.
- Knowledge, experience and willingness to act as primary admitting consultant and coordinate care of complex multi trauma admissions, as part of the RNSH Trauma Service.
