Selection Criteria

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICMANZ) or Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to and experience with educational leadership, governance and administration relevant to health professional education including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and program design, implementation, coordination, evaluation and reporting, in particular, related to advanced simulation practice.
  4. Evidence of and commitment to patient safety quality improvement methodologies.
  5. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the hospital-based training relevant to the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standard 8, multidisciplinary team training, simulation training and continuing professional development and the application of these to the hospital workforce.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively / productively with a range of stakeholders, including area health service executives, hospital administration, medical colleges and clinicians.
  7. Demonstrate scholarship including at least basic knowledge of research design, ethical review procedures, presentation of work in academic settings and authorship of educational materials at a quality commensurate with publication in peer reviewed journals or e-learning.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills relevant, for instance, to grant submissions, briefings, business cases and correspondence.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy

All NSW Health workers are required to have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as defined by NSW Health.  Employees working in a clinical area or are required to attend clinical areas are considered category A. Category A positions are required to provide evidence of having received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (TGA) and meet the requirements of the Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
