Selection Criteria

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or other recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded FRACS prior to or within 3 months after the advertised contract commencement date will be considered. Applicants with an alternate appropriate higher qualification in his/her specialty may be considered.

2. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
3. Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Orthopaedic (Spinal) Surgery
4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
5. Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment
6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and published research as relevant to the position
7. Demonstrated interest in quality improvement methodologies
