Selection Criteria

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 6 months may be considered. If successful, the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.
2. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
3. Appropriate experience with clinical, diagnostic and technical skills commensurate with practicing as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine in a tertiary trauma service seeing both adults and children.
4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment including meeting patient flow benchmarks and supervision of multiple junior staff.
6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and published research as relevant to the position.
7. Demonstrated interest and participation in quality improvement.
8. Demonstrated commitment to training and supervision of Australasian College for Emergency Medicine trainees.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a COVID-19 primary vaccination course of two doses which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).  Employees working in a clinical area or are required to attend clinical areas are considered category A and are required to meet the requirements of the Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive. 

 Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
