This is an exciting new termed position as part of Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) to support Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) as we transition the hospital to NSW Health. This role will provide operational leadership and support in day to day operations and for surgical services.

What you'll be doing
The Director Operations, Surgical Services will lead, guide and manage the portfolio of safe and timely access to care across NBH and implement high levels of clinical expertise to provide high quality care to patients of NBH consistent with NSW Health and NSLHD policies, procedures and standards.
The Director of Operations, Surgical Services plays a pivotal role in supporting the NBH Transition pre and post-handover of the hospital to NSW Health, and will be responsible for managing surgical performance at NBH.
This position is a member of the NBH Transition team and will be a member of the NBH Executive Team from handover of the facility to NSW Health. The position is required to lead and manage the development, and implementation of strategies, plans, systems and procedures relating to delivery of surgical services to ensure sustained organisational performance and ensure compliance with statutory, industrial requirements and Government policy.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated high-level problem solving, critical thinking and attention to detail in complex environments. Demonstrated competency in strategic decision making, the ability to take initiative through delegated responsibility and to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and evidence of senior management experience at an executive level with high level knowledge and understanding of the NSW health system, funding models, relevant legislation, external agencies and health system benchmarking.
Demonstrated high level management competence in operational management encompassing human resource management, financial management, service development for surgical services.
