Midwifery Leaders - an exciting opportunity to lead the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) and Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service (MAPS) teams within the Royal North Shore and Ryde Maternity Service in the role of Midwifery Unit Manager. The role is permanent full time.
MGP is a caseload model of Midwifery at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH), providing Antenatal care, Birth and Postnatal care in the women’s home. The MAPS Model of Care will aim to provide antenatal care from the booking in visit followed by the routine schedule ANC visits to Midwifery in the Home (MITH) and point of contact up until day 14 postnatally (as per hospital usual care guidelines).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to lead a team with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in midwifery practice and person-centred practice.
- Demonstrated application of critical thinking in relation to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing/midwifery care.
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and overcome resistance when initiating and implementing change.
- Demonstrated understanding of and competence in all clinical and workforce applications in maternity/midwifery care.
- Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for maternity services.
- Demonstrated knowledge in initiating and implementing changes to outcomes, models of care, evidence based practice and practice development.
