Where you'll be working
Ryde Hospital
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
To safely transport patients between medical imaging and their in-patient locations as well as assist radiography and nursing staff with positioning patients for medical imaging. This involves physically pushing bed-trolleys/wheelchairs, as well as utilising safety equipment such as electronic bed movers, electric wheelchairs and electronic patient hoists. You are required to have good communication skills to enable you to communicate and respond effectively with patients, their families and carers, as well as other hospital staff including radiographers, nurses, administration officer and requesting doctors. The successful candidate must have basic computer skills to be able to complete online learning modules, as well as utilise basic software as a part of the role.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team (nurses, administration, radiographers, doctors) and also with patients and carers.
- Able to complete repetitive physical tasks such as moving bed-trolleys and wheelchairs in a safety focused environment, as well use transport aid devices and safe manual handling practices in day to day practice.
Demonstrated interpersonal and verbal communication skills with basic computer literacy (Training provided for utilising EMR , RIS-PACS, staff email and other available online tools)
