Northern Beaches Hospital
The intern pharmacist position is a 12 month supervised practice role with the purpose of developing the necessary skills, experience and competencies to gain registration with the Australian Healthcare Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered pharmacist. This purpose must be balanced with the need to contribute to the functionality of the Pharmacy department, and participate in clinical pharmacy services including dispensary, distribution, aseptic and clinical ward duties commensurate with the level of skill, knowledge and experience demonstrated throughout the internship year.
- Completion of a Pharmacy degree from a University that is recognised by the Pharmacy Board of Australia, or assessment by APEC (or equivalent body) as ready to undertake period of supervised practice prior to registration as a pharmacist.
- Demonstrated clinical pharmaceutical knowledge and ability to apply it to therapeutic situations.
- Demonstrated team skills and proven ability to contribute positively to the pharmacy and multidisciplinary nature of healthcare.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and adhere to deadlines.
