Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) are looking for a Full Time Human Resources Business Partner to join the team at Ryde Hospital.

Where you'll be working
You will be part of the People & Culture Directorate, based at Ryde Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to support the workforce of a hospital undergoing a significant redevelopment, which will transform how healthcare is delivered to the Ryde community. As a member of the Human Resources Business Partnering (HRBP) team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to contribute to this major infrastructure and service transformation project, playing a key role in supporting workforce planning, change management, and people strategy as services evolve. You’ll also work alongside a collaborative and high-performing HRBP team, with strong connections to the broader People & Culture Directorate across NSLHD. The NSLHD HRBP team works closely with our people leaders to provide advice, guidance and support on all aspects of people management. We partner with the wider People & Culture Directorate to ensure a consistent, collaborative and values driven approach to workforce matters, enabling our people to deliver exceptional healthcare to patients, carers and the community. The HRBP team empowers leaders to create positive employee experiences across the Employee Life Cycle, driving high-performing and engaged teams throughout the District.

 
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the Human Resources Business Partner provides both strategic and operational HR support across the Ryde Hospital HRBP portfolio and the Workplace Relations portfolio.

In this role, you’ll provide expert advice on employment legislation, industrial instruments and NSW Health policies to help ensure consistent and compliant people management practices across NSLHD. You’ll support managers, contribute to change initiatives, and work on exciting workforce planning aligned with the hospital redevelopment.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing timely advice on industrial legislation, Awards, policies and procedures
Supporting remuneration matters, including job evaluation and classification
Assisting managers with grievances, performance and disciplinary matters, including mediation
Supporting organisational change, including consultation, redesign and staff redeployment
Contributing to policy development and continuous improvement
Participating in NSLHD committees, working groups and broader P&C projects

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field, with a strong understanding of contemporary HR and IR practices.
  2. Experience in investigating and advising on industrial relations matters, providing sound guidance to managers and employees in line with NSW Health employment legislation, Awards, policies, and agreements.
  3. Well-developed communication skills and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to consult with internal stakeholders, understand service requirements, and contribute to organisational design, role clarity, and process improvements while ensuring consistency across NSLHD.
