The Genetics Clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Genetic Counsellor to join the team. The Genetics Clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital is a Local Health District wide clinic that provides diagnosis, gene testing and genetic counselling services.

What you'll be doing
The Genetic Counsellor will provide genetic counselling support for the clinical geneticist led general genetics clinic and coordinate and manage genetic counsellor led clinics for patients requiring genetic counselling for diagnosed and/or well-defined genetic conditions.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Must have an undergraduate degree in a non-nursing, non-medical discipline and hold a post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part 1 certification in genetics counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the provision of genetic counselling services to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
