What you'll be doing
The purpose of this role is to provide high level administrative and secretarial support to the Director of Nursing, Allied Health and Outpatients Manager, and Surgical Services Executive Advisor, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Executive Unit at Northern Beaches Hospital. The role is responsible for coordinating correspondence, managing complex diaries, and facilitating meetings and committees through the timely preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes, and reports. Acting as a key point of contact, the position supports communication and stakeholder engagement across the organisation, while exercising sound judgement to prioritise competing demands, resolve issues, and maintain confidentiality. Through strong organisational skills and a proactive approach, the role enables senior leaders to focus on strategic and operational priorities within a fast paced and complex healthcare environment.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Previous experience in a high-level administrative/secretarial role.
  2. Superior verbal and written communication, interpersonal negotiation and facilitation skills.
  3. Proven ability to problem solve, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  4. Ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to respond, adapt and cope with changing priorities and demands in a multidisciplinary work environment.
  5. Ability to manage conflict, maintain information confidentially and work in a high pressure environment with high work demands.
  6. High-level information technology and systems skills including office systems, work processing, PowerPoint and spread sheet packages with demonstrated typing skills.
  7. Ability to provide high level customer service.
