Enrolled Nurse Preschool Screening
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Statewide Eyesight Preschool Screening (StEPS) Program. We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced part time Enrolled Nurses (EN) with experience working with children and families to work 6-hour shifts Monday to Friday.

What you'll be doing
This position involves working independently within a community-based service, visiting early childhood education settings (including
preschools and childcare centres) across NSLHD to deliver vision screening to preschool-aged children. The role requires the ability to meet the job demands of the position, including the capacity to work at low levels to conduct screening activities. A driver's license and willing to drive is essential.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team as well as having sound computer literacy including the use of health related systems such as the electronic medical record (eMR) system
- Demonstrated recent experience as an EN with working with children and families, an understanding of child development and early intervention.
Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care, that is culturally responsive whilst meeting deadlines in an environment of minimal supervision and rapid change.
